Towards the late 16th century developed the truly creative style of miniature paintings through a fusion of Indian and Persian styles. The greatest contribution to such paintings came from the court of the illustrious Mughal Emperor, Akbar. Intricate details and vivid use of colour characterize miniature paintings. Some popular depictions include lifestyle of aristocrats during the Mughal era and Krishna, the cowherd God. This painting is completely hand made and a reflection of the rich tradition of miniature paintings.
